First Semester AgendaDuring the first semester the students are assigned into roughly 10 groups. Each group will then decide on what charity they want to pitch to the class.
The groups will do many assignments using the charity of their choice. A communication plan, logo design assignment, event poster assignment, a mini event plan of an event fundraiser for the charity and a few others will be done by the students. The students will also create a campaign name. Near the end of the first semester each group will then have to pitch their charity to the rest of the class. The groups have a seven minute presentation where they have to persuade the rest of their classmates that their charity is the most deserving. Once all groups have pitched their charity the class votes for the charity in which the class will choose for the annual campaign. |
Second Semester AgendaDuring the second semester of the program the students continue with the charity campaign.
The first step of the second semester is to pick the executive council for the campaign. The students are then divided up into new groups where they plan out and implement fundraising events. Students in the past have done hockey tournaments, karaoke nights, rock shows, movie night and other amazing events. |
